KARIMNAGAR: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti district unit leaders staged a massive dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Friday alleging large-scale irregularities in the implementation of various welfare schemes in the district.

TRS district president and legislator Etala Rajender, Huzurabad legislator V. Lakshmikantha Rao, Medaram legislator K. Eshwar, party Karimnagar incharge N. Laxman Rao and others participated in the dharna.

Demands

They demanded that the government provide white ration cards to all eligible poor people and that they convert pink cards into white ones. They wanted the government distribute pensions to all the persons without taking into consideration the availability of white ration cards.

They further demanded proper implementation of Arogyasri health insurance scheme.

They charged that corporate hospitals were not providing proper treatment and were sending patients back immediately after the completion of the insured amount of Rs. 2 lakh without providing post-operative care and medicines.
