Strengthen government hospitals: TRS

KARIMNAGAR: Alleging that the ambitious Rajiv Arogyasri benefits corporate hospitals, TRS legislature party leader Etala Rajender urged the State government to allocate the same funds for the strengthening of the government hospitals.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he alleged that the corporate hospitals are not providing post-operative care to patients after performing surgeries. He charged that the corporate hospitals were treating patients up to the ceiling limit of Rs. 2 lakh and are discharging them without providing complete treatment. He also charged that the private hospitals were collecting additional 25 per cent for the conduct of various tests from the poor patients, who approach them with Arogyasri health cards. He suggested that the government strengthen government hospitals by providing all modern medical equipments, adequate staff and doctors to treat all diseases, instead of encouraging private hospitals.
